REIGNING Miss Guyana, Morvinia Sobers, who was invited to visited the Kitty Police Station Monday morning, following a complaint made by Pageant Director, Sri Yoogeandra, has not been asked to revisit the Police.

Sobers has given a statement to the Police, and according to Commissioner Laurie Lewis, who was yesterday asked for an update on the issue, no restriction has been placed on her.

According to the Commissioner, who said he had earlier spoken with Sobers, the invitation to visit the station was in keeping with Police procedure regarding allegations made against individuals.

He said such reports are always investigated by the Police.

At a press briefing on Monday, Miss Guyana, who was accompanied by her lawyer, Mr Basil Williams, denied any such allegation.

According to Sobers, she only knew about the reports when the Police telephoned a neighbour and requested that she report to the station.

Meanwhile, efforts to contact Yoogeandra have again been unsuccessful.

A female answering the telephone at his Kitty residence, referred this newspaper to contact the Police for any information regarding the incident. (WENDELLA DAVIDSON)
