WHETHER you’ve a taste for elegance and sophistication, or you’re a nature-lover with a preference for hearing the birds chirp, watching the waves rush to shore, or relaxing under a shady coconut grove, Hampton View Inn is just the place for you.

The Hampton View Inn is located at Friendship North, East Coast Demerara, just a 20-minute drive from Georgetown.

The five-room, green and white facility overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, and is the pride of the Oscar Hamilton lineage. Managing Director is Mr. Brian Hamilton. He is also proprietor of the Hamilton Esso Gas Station at Friendship.

Rich in symbolism, the countryside cove, built some 45 years ago, has been upgraded and modified internally to offer contemporary service. It, however, retains its quaint architecture.

The interior décor features custom-made furnishing and Wickham (nibbi) furniture, which serve the dual purpose of adding an unusual sophistication, while promoting Guyana’s indigenous products.

Hamilton said the facility ideally responds to the needs of overseas-based Guyanese and tourists who crave outdoor activity.

The five spacious bedrooms on the upper floor offer double and single accommodation, and a suite ideal for a honeymooning couple. All rooms are self-contained, and are equipped with television and telephone service. Bellboy and room service are optional.

A bed and breakfast arrangement is included in the cost of rooms and guests have the option of having other meals at the facility. Each room has a door leading to a verandah.

Facilities at the inn include a library (internet service is soon to be introduced).

On the ground floor are offices and facilities which include the exotic Ocean Dining Restaurant for fine dining, soft lights and music of varying classifications to suit the occasion. The motto of the restaurant is: “A difference with you in mind.”

There’s a well stocked bar with a wide range of local and imported blends.

Conference facilities to seat up to 60 persons can be had at the inn Arrangements are also in place for use of the premises for wedding receptions, family reunions and garden parties.

The lawns provide outdoor seating accommodation and there’s an outdoor bar-b-cue pit, and facilities for plain and celebrity karaokes.

At weekends there’s live entertainment with popular local artistes including Mischievous Guys and the One-Man Band.

Mr. Hamilton outlined plans for phase II of the facility which include construction of a golf court on the lawns for guests and clients. Tours around the village are also on the cards.
