CONTROVERSIAL Talk Show Host Mark Benschop appeared before Magistrate Dawn Holder-Alert at Providence Magistrate's Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to an indictment of leading a procession without permission.

He was placed on $10,000 bail after which his case was transferred to the Georgetown Magistrates' Court to be dealt with by Chief Magistrate, Paul Fung-A-Fat on Friday.

Benschop was arrested on Monday at about 15:00 hours (3 p.m.) during a protest staged by residents of Agricola, over the killing of a man from their neighbourhood.

Reports said that he was leading a group of protesters who were marching along the side of the East Bank Public Road when he was arrested.
