FORMER Foreign Minister, Mr Rashleigh Jackson is happy to be on the Guyana team at the talks with Suriname on the border dispute.

"I was invited to be on the delegation. The issue is a national issue and therefore I am happy to participate on the terms and conditions which are agreed", he told the Chronicle as the delegation awaited the arrival of the Suriname team at Herdmanston House yesterday morning.

Jackson, a Foreign Minister for several years when the main opposition People's National Congress (PNC) was in government, said his participation is "part of a public service".

"And I hope it will be rewarding and helpful to the minister (Rohee) in terms of reaching a successful conclusion."

Jackson is an advisor on the Guyana delegation.
