THE Women's Millennium Caucus will today host its second National Consultation under the theme, `Women's Action Agenda for the New Millennium' at the Hotel Tower, Georgetown.

The session will start at 10:00 hours, a release stated.

Representatives from over 90 women's organisations across Guyana have been invited to participate in the consultation and workshop sessions. They will present views and recommendations in the areas of: `Women in Politics and Public Life', `Law Reform' and `Implementation and Economic Gender Justice'.

The Caucus will also present a follow-up on the `Vital Voices Conference' which took place in Trinidad from September 29 to October 1, 1999 with an emphasis of implementing the Beijing Platform for Action.

The Women's Millennium Caucus was officially launched in September, last year with a National Consultation on `Empowering Guyanese for the New Millennium' which was attended by more than 150 participants from a cross-section of local women's organisations and the Guyanese community.

The group aims to increase the economic, political and social leadership of Guyanese women across all dividing lines and to act as a base to foster social justice, gender equality and ethnic security in this country.
