SOFTECH, a local computer education, sales, service and support company, will Wednesday host a Microsoft seminar and official company introduction at Le Meridien Pegasus.

Softech is currently the only Guyanese `Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider' (MCSP) and Virtual University Enterprise (VUE) Testing Centre.

A release from Softech said this is the first time Microsoft visits Guyana and the company will be introducing its innovative business and communications solutions and the latest Microsoft products.

The one-day seminar will have a feature presentation by Microsoft Territory Manager for the Caribbean, Mr Rick Marcet. A trained Mechanical Engineer, Computer Scientist and Business Administrator, Mr Marcet is responsible for development of sales and support infrastructure in countries throughout the British, French and Dutch West Indies.

Business Development Manager for Microsoft Press International - the Editorial Division of Microsoft - Ms Endrina Freites, will also address the forum. She will cover the entire line of Microsoft Computer books, on-line training kits, interactive training solutions, and open licensing for MS Press through Microsoft.

The release said Softech will spearhead efforts to host similar seminars with a view to "contributing to the modernisation of Guyana through Information Technology and education".
