THE Prosecution in last September's daring daylight America Street, Georgetown robbery in which slain ex-soldier Linden London called `Blackie' and three other men were involved, yesterday closed its case.

This came after a four-month Preliminary Inquiry in which 13 persons testified.

Hanif Bacchus, an employee of `Swiss House' on Water Street, also in the city, of 12 Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara, and his brother, Ramzam Bacchus, a businessman from at 21 Peter's Hall, East Bank Demerara, for whom arrest warrants were issued last week, gave sworn testimony yesterday.

Before Chief Magistrate Paul Fung-A-Fat, the brothers were led through their evidence in chief by Special Prosecutor, Khemraj Ramjittan.

Ramzam Bacchus alone was grilled by attorney-at-law Basil Williams, representing Clive Atwell, one of the four men implicated in the robbery.

Atwell, Toyin Anderson, who is being represented by attorney-at-law Joe Harmon, Andrew Douglas and London, killed last week, are accused of robbing `D. Singh and Sons' of millions of dollars in local and foreign currencies, last September 22.

The charges were struck out against London, who was shot dead during a joint exercise between the Police Force and Guyana Defence Force (GDF) last week at a apartment building on the East Bank Demerara.

Douglas has not yet been arrested by the Police.

Atwell and Anderson were further remanded to jail and the case is set for tomorrow for the defence team to make no case submissions.
