I am willing to contribute my skills too

Dear Editor,

Since the 1992 elections, every President has paid lip service about using the skills of foreign based Guyanese to help develop Guyana. The recent proposal of Mr. Elton McRae [ please note: link provided by LOSP web site ] of the Region 4 Co-ordinating Committee on Poverty Reduction might very well be the call that a great many of us will heed. Why, because the appeal comes from the grassroot, there is no financial gains for politicians by giving us a line and no suspicions of us vying for political affiliations. It is simply to build our country's pride, stability, sustainable services and give the Guyanese citizens value for loans and aids that are given to them for the development of a better society.

It is commendable that Mr. Gilbert Campbell [ please note: links provided by LOSP web site ] has volunteered his services and his name to the overseas register.

I wish to honour the call of my two countrymen and join their efforts. I will add to this congregation of Guyanese, my Managerial Experiences and Mechanical Engineering Discipline.

Yours faithfully,

Lionel M. Persaud
