Special Squads Within the Police Department
The PNC REFORM (PNC/R) is calling on the PPP/Civic (PPP/C) to mount a public enquiry into the functioning of the Guyana Police Force following what it claimed were renewed extra-judicial killings.

A release from the party yesterday said that since 1993, members of the Target Special Squad have killed over 100 young men, all allegedly wanted by the police. It said that in nearly every case, the killings were unjustified.
